JANE PALLISER
is an abstract expressionist artist whose journey began with a spontaneous visit to an art room—an experience that revealed art as a powerful means of individual expression, distinct from the shared identity of her identical twin. Her creative path deepened at Teacher’s College, where she discovered the technique of negative painting, opening her eyes to new ways of seeing and drawing.
A life-threatening illness became a turning point, prompting Jane to seek spiritual meaning and transforming art into her visual language—a way to explore, process, and communicate her inner world. Her work is characterized by loose, expressive brushstrokes, imaginative and sometimes whimsical imagery, and a vibrant passion for color. Nature frequently serves as both context and metaphor, while world events and the tumultuous times we live in also inform her visual storytelling.
Working primarily with gouache and mixed media, Jane’s art provides a space for raw emotion to erupt and overflow onto the canvas, creating texture, shape, and form that speak fiercely and playfully. Through her evolving practice, she invites viewers to join her in a creative conversation—one that is deeply personal, yet universally resonant.
